I like this girl why was i too scare to tell her anything?

This girl i know called me Elmo because i was wearing a red jacket in winter. She kept hanging with me and i told her your in 8th grade she said yeah she yeah you i said I'm in 7th. she was so shock to hear I'm in the grade one year younger. she never talk too much to me after that all she says is hi Elmo and i say hi back. it was last day of school for summer I'm going to 8th she going to high school i didn't suspect a good bye she saw me and said oh there you are Elmo and hugged me we hug for like 7 seconds. and i was too scare to ask her out or anything because she leaving me.
