Would I have to learn to drive stick shift to become an automotive technician?

Yes, the reason is that when you need to bring the vehicle in to put on your rack or have to go on your test drive you have to be able to drive the vehicle. You wont last long asking other techs to do your test drives and pull the vehicles on and off your lift.
