Dedicate router for online gaming?

If I have the opportunity to sit down and use the TV, I like to play online games on my PS3. However, if I am using the TV my wife usually likes to watch TV or videos streaming online. This pretty much kills my connection (wireless) and makes games very difficult to play. Is there any way to optimize my wireless router so that the PS3 is getting, maybe 75 to 80 % of our internet stream? We have 7mbps down and 1 mbps up and I have the D-Link DIR-655 Wireless N router.
