Why do people hate the hummer h2 so much ?

I don't own one but i have driven a friend's before. I am just curious what makes people hate them. Honestly it seems like all these green peace people just point their fingers in one direction.....at the h2. The reality of it is that ford expeditions and others like it are not very far off from the gas mileage the h2 gets. Also, in my local paper i heard about a man's H2 getting its tires punctured and windows bashed out as well as multiple crushed body panels all of which was done by green "peace" people. Now if you ask me that's not very peaceful ! Quite frankly i don't think people can get it into their heads that every one has an opinion and i think that if one can afford it why can't he own an h2. This country after all was founded on freedom so why do we have to bother people who own h2's (and yes for all those nit pickers i understand that some of these statements are my opinions as well)
